Afghanistan Cricket Board has chosen its team for three T20I Series matches in India. Ibrahim Zadran is the team leader, and the squad includes experienced players like Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan. This is the first time Afghanistan is sending a team to India for T20I Series matches. Rashid Khan, who usually leads the team, won’t be the captain this time due to a back injury. Instead, Ibrahim Zadran will lead the team.
The Chairman of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, Mr. Mirwais Ashraf, believes that Afghanistan is no longer considered an underdog and expects a tough series against India. Zadran recently led Afghanistan to victory against UAE.
The team also includes Mujeeb Ur Rahman for spin and Ibrahim Alikhil as a backup wicketkeeper. The pace attack features Naveen-Ul-Haq and Fazalhaq Farooqi, who have experience playing T20s in India.
The T20I Series schedule:
Jan 11: 1st T20I Series in Mohali
Jan 14: 2nd T20I Series in Indore
Jan 17: 3rd T20I Series in Bengaluru
