Growing up in Chhatarpur, I attended Christian English College. It was here that the seeds of my fascination with computers were planted, thanks to the emergence of cyber cafes in my hometown. The world of technology captivated me, inspiring me to pursue it further in my education.
After completing my schooling, I ventured to Indore for my graduation. However, the pangs of homesickness drew me back to my roots, and I decided to pursue my Bachelor of Computer Applications (BCA) at Digital Computer College in Chhatarpur itself.
My passion for computers blossomed during the rise of cyber cafes in my hometown. This fascination led me to convince my father to support my education in Indore with the dream of building a career in software and settling in the USA. But Indore brought its own challenges. Instead of the computer-focused curriculum I craved, I found myself grappling with mathematics, a subject that felt alien to my aspirations.
Frustrated and stressed, I made a pivotal decision to pack my bags and return home, oblivious to the magnitude of the mistake I was making. The realization hit me during my BCA in Chhatarpur; building a compelling career in a smaller city like mine seemed implausible. I made a bold choice to return to Indore for my Master of Computer Applications (MCA) at IPS Academy.
As I completed my MCA, familial responsibilities beckoned, and I found myself in an unexpected marriage. The clash between my aspirations and family obligations led to a tumultuous period. Despite being married, my relentless pursuit of a suitable job took me to Delhi, Pune, Mumbai, and Bangalore. Unfortunately, these journeys were marked by health setbacks, including bouts of typhoid and dengue, forcing me to retreat to my hometown.
Undeterred by setbacks, I teamed up with a friend to establish a consulting and software firm. Simultaneously, an opportunity emerged in Noida, drawing me into the field of recruitment. After a brief stint, I returned to Indore and launched my own software company, “Votive Technologies,” which thrives under my friend’s stewardship.
Family pressures persisted, urging me to return home. This time, I embraced my father’s business, renovating and digitizing our outdated cinema hall. The cinema’s success became a turning point, not just financially but also in restoring lost confidence.
In my newfound spare time, I immersed myself in reading books and exploring YouTube. The evolving internet landscape facilitated this exploration. Guilt from unfulfilled dreams pushed me toward self-help, motivational content, and what I would term self-exploration.
This journey of self-improvement didn’t stop at knowledge acquisition. It extended to practical ventures. I became a teacher at my alma mater, conducted personality development sessions, worked as a recruitment consultant, and even started my own software company.
The story takes an unexpected turn with marriage, entrepreneurship, and encounters with health challenges. A failed cafe venture and a subsequent return to my hometown marked a period of introspection and renewed determination.
The turning point arrived with TikTok. Despite criticism, I embraced it as a tool for self-expression and transitioned to YouTube. Over 300 videos later, my channel became a repository of knowledge and experience. The internet not only facilitated my learning journey but also allowed me to share my insights with a broader audience.
This culmination of experiences led me to my current endeavors. I’m working on my official website, www.manishgoswami.com, which aims to provide useful e-books and courses for knowledge enhancement. Simultaneously, I’m spearheading a business project, www.dapear.com, focused on health supplements, affordable clothing, and grooming products.
“Dapear,” a fusion of “appear” and “dapper,” embodies my commitment to helping individuals enhance their outer appearance affordably. Drawing on my experiences in health, fashion, and grooming, I aim to curate a range of skin-friendly and herbal cosmetics.
