Esteemed actor Rituraj Singh, known for his roles in the film “Badrinath Ki Dulhania” and the TV show “Anupamaa,” succumbed to a heart attack at his residence early Tuesday morning, as confirmed by a close associate. “After being hospitalized for stomach-related issues and discharged a few days earlier, he unfortunately died from a cardiac arrest around 12:30 am at his house,” Amit Behl reported to the press.
Behl disclosed that he was informed of Singh’s passing by actress Pallavi Joshi. The news has led to an outpouring of condolences from various celebrities within the film industry. Manoj Bajpayee, a colleague and friend of Rituraj, shared his disbelief and sorrow. “How is this even possible, Ritz? Such heartbreaking news to wake up to. You will be deeply missed, Rituraj, my friend. Om Shanti,” he lamented.
Director Hansal Mehta, who collaborated with Rituraj on “K Street Pali Hill,” shared his remembrances of the actor, expressing disbelief at his sudden passing. “I can’t grasp that Rituraj is gone. Although I only directed him briefly on ‘K Street Pali Hill,’ we developed a close friendship. It’s been some time since we last met, but I cherish the memories. He was a hugely talented yet underappreciated actor and a kind-hearted person. His departure is both sudden and premature,” Mehta reflected.
Varun Dhawan, who acted alongside Rituraj in “Badrinath Ki Dulhania,” also mourned his passing. By posting a photo from the movie, Dhawan noted, “#rip Rituraj sir. I thoroughly enjoyed working with him and had recently seen him a few months ago on the set of ‘Baby John’. Om Shanti.”
Rituraj Singh is survived by his wife and two children. He was celebrated for his versatile roles in television, film, and digital series. His television work includes appearances in “Hitler Didi,” “Adaalat,” “Shapath,” “Banegi Apni Baat,” and “Diya Aur Baati Hum.” Singh’s career also featured roles in several Hindi films and streaming series such as “Indian Police Force,” “Made in Heaven,” and “Bandish Bandits.”
