Crocodile seen on Ratnagiri Road
People in Maharashtra’s coastal Ratnagiri area was surprised to see a massive crocodile on the road after heavy rain.
The big lizard was spotted on the road in Chiplun in a video taken by a commuter while sitting in his vehicle. It is thought to have come from the adjacent Shiva River, which is home to numerous crocodiles.

Ratnagiri is famous for its mugger crocodiles, one of India’s three crocodilian species, along with saltwater and gharial crocodiles.
Chiplun and adjoining areas in the Ratnagiri district have been receiving heavy rainfall for the past few days.
Heavy rains have also raised the water levels in the district’s rivers.
According to the Meteorological Department, rain will persist in Ratnagiri district until July 2.
