Telangana MLA Lasya Nandita tragically passed away today in Hyderabad after her SUV crashed into a road divider, marking her second vehicular accident in just 10 days.
The 37-year-old legislator had previously survived a collision in Narkatpally, where her vehicle was hit by a drunk driver on her way to a rally for Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. She sustained minor injuries from that incident, which claimed the life of her home guard.
Today’s fatal event occurred when the driver of her Maruti XL6 lost control and collided with the metal divider on Hyderabad’s Outer Ring Road. Lasya Nandita died immediately upon impact, while her driver, now in critical condition, is undergoing treatment at a private hospital.
She was declared dead shortly after being transported to the hospital following the accident, which happened at 5:30 am. Authorities are currently investigating the circumstances surrounding both accidents.
Born in Hyderabad in 1986, Lasya Nandita entered the political arena nearly a decade ago and was elected as an assembly member from the Secunderabad Cantonment in 2023, following her tenure as a corporator in the Kavadiguda ward.
